Benefits
Our programme of studies is endorsed by the Bishops’ Conferences of England and Wales and of Belgium. Our Diploma in Liturgical Studies may be attractive and useful to the Bishops for members of their diocesan and national liturgical committees. Our programme of studies can be completed during two or more summers, and so is realistic and attainable.
We offer courses in English in London during Summer based on the curriculum of the Pontifical Institute of Liturgy taught in Italian at Sant’Anselmo, Roma. Our courses are individually accredited through KU Leuven, Belgium.
Plan of studies
Students may extend their programme of studies over several years according to their schedule, but our programme of studies is organized so that a student may complete the Diploma in Liturgical Studies in as few as two years. In the first year they attend Block 1 and 2; in the second year Block 2 and 3 according to the following schedule:
Block 1 Annually
Our programme of studies is organized so that a student may take the two foundational courses together in Block 1. These are offered annually:
L701 Liturgical Research Seminar (introduction to method)
L702 Liturgy in the West: History and context
Block 2 in even numbered years
Students may take two required courses:
L703 Western Liturgical Books
L705 Theology of the Liturgy
Block 2 in odd numbered years
Students may take one required course and one elective:
L704 Liturgical Hermeneutics I
Electives include:
2013 L712 The Eucharist in History

2013: The Eucharist
2014: Christian Initiation
2015: History of the Liturgy
2016: Theology of the Liturgy
Course load
The Summer programme is intensive. A student may take a maximum of two courses in any two-week Block. The Research Seminar is not intended to be combined with any other course so that the student may have the time necessary to produce a research paper.
